Performance Modifications

Cars were meant to be more than just appealing. An aggressive appearance should be reflected by its performance, especially for street cars. Unfortunately, California has adopted strict emission laws to limit what modifcations can be done to enhance engine outputs. Thankfully, CARB has approved some changes. That's the realm this Tiburon challenges itself to stay within.

K&N prototyped 69-5300TR Typhoon CCA system
The intake is powdercoated red & modified to fit with the supercharger. This system includes a bracket to keep the piping from rubbing the brake line. The filter includes a Drycharger wrap and is relocated to the fender well.

SA Alpine Developments Eaton MP62 supercharger
Liquid-to-air intercooled, uses an internal bypass actuator, and mounts directly onto a new cast aluminium inlet manifold. Even with the relocation bracket, the cruise control sits very close to the blower belt...so it was removed. The rusted Alpine tb adapter and cable bolts were replaced with stainless steel ones from NT's Rickna.

Espelir JGT500R dual cat-back exhaust
It's beautiful...full stainless steel, mandrel bent 60mm piping, dual 100mm tips (and removable silencers to be 50-state legal). It sounds deep and smooth.

Hotshot headers (with POR-15 coating)
Perfect fitting, improved the top end power (even with boost dropping by about 1psi), and gives an aggressive sound. Coated with POR-15 Black Velvet to protect from rust. No CEL's.
DISCONTINUED: Sadly, Hotshot has ceased all of their product manufacturing.

B&M transmission oil SuperCooler 70268
The cooler uses a more efficient stacked plate design (rather than tube / fin designs), measures 11 x 7 1/2 x 3/4 in., is rated at 13,000 BTU, and includes a Low Pressure Drop bypass for cold starts.

Road///Race Motorsports Rear Strut Tower Bar
RRM's rear strut tower bar is made of steel, powdercoated red, and helps solidify the less rigid structure of the hatchback. Rubber grommets were used to give the holes made in the paneling a factory appearance.

Dyno tuning
The dynojet is an invaluable tuning tool. Many enthusiasts neglect this step and don't take full advantage of their Tiburon's potential and mods.
